Have you ever found yourself frustrated with the challenges of reading at night or on the go? For me, switching to a Kindle was a game-changer, and I can’t imagine going back to traditional books. Whether you’re an avid reader, a commuter, or someone who just wants to sneak in a few extra pages without waking up your spouse, a Kindle can transform the way you enjoy your favorite stories. Here’s why I love my Kindle and why you might fall in love with one too:

  1. You can read at night, and you don’t even need a book light! No more spouse complaints! Ever since Jakob got me a kindle, he doesn’t wake up by getting blinded in the middle of the night anymore when I’m reading.
  2. With Kindle Unlimited, if you read as much as I do, you’ll definitely be saving money on books! It also gives you a chance to try a book out before you commit to buying it, which comes in handy for books you just don’t want to finish (because we’ve all been there).
  3. Reading on the beach or by the pool! I have the kindle paperwhite, so it’s nice to have something that won’t get damaged if it gets wet.
  4. Having a whole library of books to take with you on trips. There’s nothing more annoying than when I run out of things to read and I’m away from my library at home.
  5. They’re perfect for passing the time in doctor’s offices. With POTS and EDS, I typically find myself in a doctor’s office at least once a week, and sometimes the waits can get long (especially if I’ve wound up in the ER again) so it’s a good way to keep myself entertained.
  6. For days when I’ve had to commute home on the metro, I’ve got my kindle right there in my bag, and it’s so much lighter than carting around a thick book in my bag. Plus, no more destroyed pages from keeping books in my bag!
  7. I like customizing my devices with cute covers and stickers, and that’s something I could never feel comfortable doing to a book.
  8. You can connect your goodreads account so you can keep track of the books you’ve read, and also find your next book recommendation.
  9. You can see how far into a book you are, and how much time it will take you to finish your current chapter. That can be helpful because I know I’ll want to read a whole chapter in one go, but sometimes I don’t have the time to read for an hour without stopping.
  10. It’s a kindle!
